There are actually benefits of breastfeeding for not only baby, but mom too!

The Center for Disease Control (CDC), U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans (USDA) AND the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommend exclusively breastfeeding for the first 6 months, then in conjunction with solids for up to 2 years (or more if that’s what’s right for you and your babe!).

- Lower risk of diseases including asthma, obesity, type 1 diabetes, severe lower respiratory disease, ear infections, sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), gastrointestinal issues (diarrhea/vomiting)
- Antibodies in milk to develop a strong immune system and help fight infection
- Best source of nutrition because breastmilk composition changes as baby grows
- Easier to digest
- Physical contact promotes bonding and temperature stabilization
- Lower risk of diseases including breast cancer, ovarian cancer, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure
- Can breastfeed anywhere, anytime without need to bring extra supplies
- Cost effective
- Creates special bonds between you and your baby
